CARMEL, Ind. – Franciscan Health Inspiring Women has partnered with the Indiana Women’s Running Festival to be part of the event, which this year is set for Saturday, August 30 in Carmel.

The Indiana Women’s Running Festival is a women-only event that features three different event distances: a half marathon, a 10k and a 5k. Each event begins and ends outside of city hall.

Franciscan Health Inspiring Women is a free program that connects women to exclusive content that nourishes mind, body and spirit. Inspiring Women focuses on everything from healthy habits to newfound passions and provides resources to help women take on anything life brings their way.

“We are honored to be a part of the Indiana Women’s Running Festival,” said Lori Price, president and CEO for Franciscan Health Central Indiana. “The Franciscan Health Inspiring Women program is designed to inspire, uplift and educate women in the pursuit of a healthier mind, body and spirit. These same principles are essential for the strong women who take part of the Indiana Women’s Running Festival.”

In addition to earning a finisher’s medal, each participant will receive an official event shirt, access to a free post-race celebration and a rose when they cross the finish line.

The Indiana Women’s Running Festival is the largest women-only running event in Indiana and one of the 10 largest, female-only half marathons in the United States. While the event draws the majority of its running from the Hoosier state, 33 different states and five countries were represented in 2024. Six runners who had been part of the U.S. Olympic Trials also took part in last year’s Indiana Women’s Running Festival.

The scenic racecourse winds through parks, old neighborhoods, by ponds and along the beautiful Monon Greenway. A cookout follows the race at the Carmel Civic Square.

Some participants enter the race to run competitively, others run for charities, and some run to remember and honor loved ones. Many women participate just to have fun and spend a day running with friends.
